RECYCLING
Show your Leopard Pride! by helping to make Lovejoy cleaner and greener by properly placing items in trash and recycle bins in cafeterias, classrooms, library and everywhere else. We have single-stream recycling so all recyclables go in the same bin.
Look for signs that show which items go in TRASH bin and which items go in RECYCLE bin.
Please NO TRASH in recycle bins! It impacts the ability of items to be recycled and can cause an entire recycle bin to be contaminated so it cannot be recycled at all.

Why recycle?
In the 2021-2022 school year, Lovejoy ISD generated well over 1.5 million items that went to the landfill from single use cafeteria items and items brought from home. A good portion of that is recyclable and can stay out of landfills. We put approximately 100,000 water and drink bottles into landfills this past school year. Help us to significantly reduce that number by bringing a reusable drink bottle to school. FYI - it takes about 500 years for a plastic water bottle to decompose.
Check out the Get Involved page for ways you can Reduce, Reuse and Recycle more.
What can be recycled can vary depending on who your trash/recycling vendor is. Check out the website of the company that handles your trash and recycling to understand what they can and cannot recycle.
